Job summary

CGIC in Canada is seeking an entrepreneurial Financial Advisor as an exclusive partner, managing your own insurance agency with strong support from an established company. You will develop relationships, help clients protect their financial security, and drive growth in your local market from Oshawa, Ontario.

You will hold Life and General Insurance licences with the potential Mutual Funds licence, and pursue CFP/CLU/CHFC or equivalent credentials while contributing to a sustainable community

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of management experience in the insurance industry or related business experience.
• Post-secondary education in a related field.
• Holds a Life licence and a General Insurance licence, with a Mutual Funds licence as an asset.
• Designations CFP, CLU, CHFC or accredited Financial Planning Designation completed or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Prospect for new clients and discuss risk management and financial goals.
• Build community relationships to increase agency visibility and sales.
• Develop and execute business, operational and marketing plans.
• Recruit, coach, and mentor team members and monitor performance.
• Ensure licences, compliance, and adherence to policies and regulations.

As an independent contracted Financial Advisor of Co-operators, you will build strong, visible ties to the community and will cultivate long-term relationships with your clients. How you will create impact:

• Prospecting new clients to openly discuss risk management and financial goals and conducting reviews with clients to empower them to make informed decisions.
• Cultivating strong community relationships to enhance agency visibility and maximize new business opportunities to contribute to sales and growth goals.
• Developing and executing business, operational and marketing plans and supporting sustainability strategies to help Canadian communities become more resilient.
• Recruiting and selecting talent, coaching and mentoring employees, and managing your team’s performance to facilitate their development and achieve agency goals.
• Ensuring maintenance of required licences, compliance of ethical behaviour and conformity with corporate policies, industry standards and legal regulations.

To join our team:

• You have 3-5 years of management experience in the insurance industry or related business experience.
• You have post-secondary education in a related field.
• You hold a Life licence and a General Insurance licence, with a Mutual Funds licence as an asset.
• You have completed one of the following professional designations: CFP, CLU, CHFC or accredited Financial Planning Designation.

Expected salary range $65,562.00 - $109,270.00. This role is eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan for additional compensation with an annual target of 10%+.
