Job summary

CGIC in Canada seeks an entrepreneurial Financial Advisor to manage your own insurance agency with full support of an established company. You will build strong community ties, cultivate client relationships and drive growth through strategic planning and sales execution.

You will recruit and mentor a team, ensure licences and compliance, and leverage exclusive tools to meet clients' financial goals. Competitive compensation includes a sales incentive plan and robust benefits.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of management experience in insurance or related business.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field.
  • Life licence and General Insurance licence; Mutual Funds licence is an asset.
  • CFP, CLU, CHFC or accredited Financial Planning Designation desired.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect new clients and discuss risk management and financial goals.
  • Cultivate community relationships and grow new business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute business, operational and marketing plans.
  • Recruit, coach and mentor staff; manage team performance.

As an exclusive Financial Advisor of Co-operators you are an entrepreneurial-minded leader. You are a high achieving business builder who will manage your own insurance agency with the full support of an established company. As an independent contracted Financial Advisor of Co-operators, you will build strong, visible ties to the community and will cultivate long-term relationships with your clients. Through use of our exclusive technology, tools and processes, you will help Canadians assess, define and implement solutions to meet their financial security needs.

How you will create impact:
  • Prospecting new clients to openly discuss risk management and financial goals and conducting reviews with clients to empower them to make informed decisions.
  • Cultivating strong community relationships to enhance agency visibility and maximize new business opportunities to contribute to sales and growth goals.
  • Developing and executing business, operational and marketing plans and supporting sustainability strategies to help Canadian communities become more resilient.
  • Recruiting and selecting talent, coaching and mentoring employees, and managing your team’s performance to facilitate their development and achieve agency goals.
  • Ensuring maintenance of required licences, compliance of ethical behaviour and conformity with corporate policies, industry standards and legal regulations.
To join our team:
  • You have 3-5 years of management experience in the insurance industry or related business experience.
  • You have post-secondary education in a related field.
  • You hold a Life licence and a General Insurance licence, with a Mutual Funds licence as an asset.
  • You have completed or working toward one of the following professional designations: CFP, CLU, CHFC or accredited Financial Planning Designation

Expected salary range $65,562.00 - $109,270.00. This role is eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan for additional compensation with an annual target of 10%+.
