Purpose of the Role

As the Financial Accountant, you will be responsiblefor accounting activities including the preparation of monthly reports, performing various calculations and accruals. You will also work on maintaining GL integrity, attending team meetings and working with various departments throughout the company.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • You have 2-5 years of experience in accounting roles with a focus on accounts receivable, accounts payable, and/or financial accounting.
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You have a desire and ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • You have a good understanding of accounting principles and theory.
  • You are familiar with an accounting software (Business Central an asset).
  • You have experience with productivity tools, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • You have great customer service skills working with other departments and external customers.
Bonus Skills and Qualifications
  • You have completed or made progress towards a CPA designation or relevant Master's Degree.
  • You have knowledge of PowerAutomate.
What Success looks like in this role
  • You will perform month‑end financial accounting tasks, including accrual calculations, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • You will prepare monthly reports, lead sheets, and aged accounts payable (AP) report as well as process AP foreign exchange entries and related journal entries.
  • You will handle intercompany reconciliations and journal entries.
  • You will reclass prepaid expenses from the income statement to current assets and post amortization entries in Business Central.
  • You will update Fixed Asset workbooks and complete amortization entries in Business Central.
  • You will review general ledgers for all subsidiaries and report discrepancies.
  • You will assist with IFRS 16 lease journal entries.
  • You will support the review of revenue and costs in the Projects module within Business Central.
  • You will build efficiencies within the D365 Business Central environment.
  • You will help implement automation and AI tools to improve processes.
  • You will assist with the annual external audit and provide requested information to auditors.
