Job description
The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Site Finance Lead, this position plays a critical role in the plant’s financial success and provides support to the plant finance and management teams. The role requires the incumbent to work closely with various functional groups and levels to identify opportunities to improve results within the plant. This position is responsible for ensuring accuracy of plant financial reporting. Any MLF team member interested in being considered for this role are encouraged to apply online by January 20. Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
  • Coach and lead a team responsible for:
    • Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of plant results
    • Period end close
    • Maintaining effective control environment at the facility (inventory, policies etc)
  • Be an active business partner to the plant operations team including:
    • Interpreting financial results, and providing analysis to plant management and operations leadership
    • Identifying, recommending, and supporting cost improvement opportunities in line with the plant’s culture of continuous improvement
    • Providing guidance and coaching to non-finance managers regarding issues of financial control and compliance
  • Manage the budgeting process for plant overheads
  • Manage weekly and monthly forecasting and tracking for plant results and variance submission
  • Review continuous improvement projects, assess savings, report approved savings
  • On site responsibility to ensure accounting procedures adhere to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and approved corporate policies.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis to support projects and business decisions as required
What You’ll Bring:
  • Post-Secondary Education in a finance/business related program required
  • 5+ years of progressive finance experience in an ERP environment required (SAP preferred)
  • Completion of professional accounting designation program (CPA) preferred
  • Experience in Manufacturing Costing is an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of MS office required
  • Ability to work independently
