Job summary

Banyan Software is seeking a Finance Manager to partner with operating and finance teams to support growing software businesses in the Banyan portfolio. The role focuses on revenue recognition, payables, cash management, and financial reporting, with a strong emphasis on data-driven decision making.

The ideal candidate will manage month-end close, supervise teams, and drive improvements in budgeting, KPIs, and system integrations. Hybrid work arrangement with a Toronto-based base is offered.

Qualifications

• CPA or equivalent designation (or working toward one) is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in financial management for portfolios or software businesses.
• Experience with budgeting, audits, and financial reporting is expected.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial controls is required.
• Experience with NetSuite is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close for assigned OpCos and deliver accurate financial statements under US GAAP.
• Supervise offshore and onsite finance teams and ensure quality of reconciliations and revenue recognition.
• Collaborate with leadership to prepare budgets, forecasts, and KPIs, driving performance improvements.
• Manage integration of newly acquired OpCos and align policies and systems.
• Ensure audit readiness with complete documentation for internal and external reviews.
• Develop and enforce SOPs to improve efficiency across finance processes.

About the Role

This is an exciting and entrepreneurial opportunity to join a fast-paced software consolidator with a very significant growth trajectory. The Finance Manager will report into Director, Finance or designate, and will focus on partnering with operating and finance colleagues to support growing high-quality software businesses owned by Banyan Software.

This position is ideal for an individual with the interest and aptitude to be involved in all aspects of finance operations, including revenue recognition, accounts payables and expenses, cash management, financial reporting and analysis, and systems. The finance group also plays a \"value added\" role by leveraging financial and other data to drive shareholder value.

• Lead the month-end close process for assigned OpCos, delivering accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
• Supervise and mentor offshore and onsite finance teams, ensuring quality assurance over financial deliverables such as balance sheet reconciliations and revenue recognition.
• Collaborate with leadership to prepare budgets, forecasts, and KPIs, driving informed decision-making and operational performance improvements.
• Manage the integration of newly acquired OpCos, aligning policies and migrating systems.
• Ensure audit readiness by maintaining complete and accurate documentation for internal and external reviews.
• Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency and consistency across finance processes.

• CPA or equivalent; 5 years+ of experience in Financial Management.
• Proven track record in Portfolio company management, budgeting, and audits..
• Accounting designation or working towards a designation preferred.
• Solid working knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with NetSuite is an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Highly motivated and energetic with interest in entrepreneurship, software, and finance.

Compensation - 125,000 CAD and Bonus. Hybrid role (3 days in office), based in Yorkville, Toronto.
