Department Overview
The GTS Finance team supports the GTS Business Banking Technology Team by providing proactive financial leadership, performance management, reporting, expense management, and financial strategy.
Responsibilities
- Lead monthly and quarterly operating results packages, highlighting key drivers, risks, and actions for senior leadership.
- Drive automation and standardization of recurring reporting, forecasting, and planning deliverables using advanced Excel and data transformation techniques.
- Deliver strategic portfolio insights to senior executive and management teams by consolidating data, explaining performance drivers, and recommending actions.
- Strengthen business partner relationships and deliver value‑added project analytics that improve decision‑making.
- Present financial performance, outlook, and recommendations in QBRs and other senior forums, tailoring the message to the audience and driving alignment on next steps.
- Work with senior management and lead the development and implementation of new financial models and methodologies to support business decisions.
- Own and continuously improve expense and portfolio financial management processes and supporting systems, partnering with technology and vendors to strengthen controls, drive adoption, and improve data quality and reporting.
- Promote a positive work environment that encourages productivity, innovation, creativity, teamwork, analysis, and advice.
- Be a leader in forecasting and planning by further building process excellence and leveraging partners to provide value add to the business.
- Liaise with senior management and the decision‑support team during the planning process to ensure initiatives are incorporated into the business annual plan.
- Provide leadership and support to the Business Banking Finance team, fostering a positive and rewarding work environment.
- Work activities include a blend of highly collaborative activities and individual deliverables.
- Individuals are expected to be onsite 4 days a week; colleagues may spend more or less days in office as required by the business line.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree.
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Accounting or financial designation preferred.
- Experience in business finance advisory, P&L, expense, and stakeholder management roles.
- Business and/or accounting designation strongly preferred or working toward a designation (MBA, CFA, CMA, CGA, CA).
- Experience using financial and project‑management systems (e.g., CA PPM, Hyperion).
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel (Power Pivot, Power Query), including building models and dashboards; strong proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Power BI is an asset, with the ability to create and maintain executive‑ready dashboards and self‑serve reporting.
- Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities – ability to combine inputs into clear, concise analysis and ultimately business decisions.
- Strong leadership capabilities to work effectively with senior executives.
- Ability to lead and manage in a fast‑paced and ever‑changing environment.
- Proactive self‑starter with the ability to see business opportunities warranting further review and analysis.
- Excellent analytical, logical, and organizational skills – able to provide clear and concise summaries of relevant data, observations, and recommendations to management (turning complexity into simplicity).
