Job summary

Fluent Software Group is seeking a Finance Manager to lead technical accounting, cash management, and controls across multiple SaaS businesses. You will own close processes, intercompany activities, and acquisition integration from a financial perspective.

This role reports to the Portfolio Director of Finance and involves coaching a small team in a fast-paced, AI-driven environment. Location flexibility across Canada, with remote options and international travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • 4–5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • CPA/CA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Previous experience at manager level overseeing key accounting processes.
  • Strong IFRS knowledge including IFRS 15, IFRS 16 and IFRS 3; consolidation experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience using AI tools to automate workflows; Python/Power Query a plus.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication with global teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High integrity and a drive to improve processes and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close deliverables, including cash flows and dividends.
  • Oversee treasury, cash flow reporting, banking, debt management, and cash visibility.
  • Identify and implement AI-assisted automation to reduce manual processing time.
  • Lead intercompany reconciliations and intercompany recharges.
  • Coordinate tax compliance and transfer pricing with external advisors.
  • Support acquisition integration from a technical accounting perspective including PPA review.
  • Manage a team of 2–3, coaching and developing staff.

The Opportunity:Finance Manager

The PortfolioFinance Managerreports directly to the Portfolio Director of Finance and works as part of the broader Finance team. This is a technical role combiningreportingandcomplianceownership. You will be the portfolio’s technical accounting specialist — owning the cash management process, ensuring robust internal controls and clean audit outcomes — while actively partnering with other department teams to raise reporting quality without becoming a bottleneck in day-to-day operations.

You will own thereporting andtreasury function end-to-end: from intercompany reconciliation to IFRS 15 and 16, tax compliance, and cash management across your responsible businesses.

Location:Quebec,Ontarioor Alberta (Remote)

International travel may berequiredfor business process reviews and acquisition integration.

The salary range for this role is$90,000–$100,000 CADper year. Final compensation will bedeterminedbased on experience, skills, and location.

WhatYou’llOwn
  • Own the preparation and review of all assigned business month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close deliverables, including the statement of cash flows and dividend declarations.
  • Own the treasury function — including monthly cash requirements reporting, banking administration, debt management, and maintaining accurate cash visibility at all times.
  • Activelyidentifyand implement AI-assisted automation opportunities within the controllership, reducing manual processingtimeand increasing capacity for higher-value analytical work.
  • Lead the intercompany reconciliation andrechargesprocess across your assigned businesses.
  • Coordinate tax compliance obligations whererequired, specifically transfer pricing arrangements, consulting with external advisors as needed.
  • Support acquisition integration from a technical accounting perspective — including step plan adherence, revenue recognition checklists, and PPA model review.
  • Manage a team of 2–3, ensuring tasks are appropriatelydelegatedand team members are coached and developed.
WhatWe’reLooking For
  • A minimum of 4–5 years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Previousexperienceoperatingat the manager level, with responsibility for overseeing key accounting processes and deliverables.
  • Proven people management or team leadership experience, including coaching, supporting, and developing team members.
  • Strong IFRS technical knowledge — specifically IFRS 15 (revenue recognition), IFRS 16 (leases), and IFRS 3 (business combinations / PPA); consolidation accounting experience is essential.
  • Advanced Excel skills;demonstratedexperience using AI tools (Claude, Copilot, or equivalent) to automate finance workflows; Python or Power Query experience is a strong advantage.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with teams across Finance, Operations, Sales, and other departments.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
  • High integrity and personal ethics, given the sensitive issues and information this role entails.
  • A drive to improve processes and systems rather thanmaintainthe status quo.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonalskills;capable of working with cross-functional and international teams.
  • Well organized,detail oriented, and able to work variable hours whenrequired.

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience in both public practice accounting and a private industry accounting environment
  • Previousexperience within the software industry, particularly in a recurring revenue or SaaS environment.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite and Power BI
