Job summary

Advanceo is seeking a hungry Finance & Investment Analyst Intern to grow quickly in a hands-on role across its advisory platform and Advanceo Capital's investment activities.

You will support the founder and senior team with financial modelling, diligence, KPI tracking, and note-taking, and may observe meetings to convert discussions into action items. Bilingual English/French is a strong plus in Quebec.

This paid internship offers real exposure to live deals and a path toward a longer-term role.

Qualifications

• Current student, recent graduate, or early-career with strong interest in finance/analytical field.
• Strong Excel skills; able to build models from scratch; capable of using AI tools to accelerate research and reporting.
• Reliable, self-directed, detail-oriented; comfortable with ambiguity; eager to grow in a small firm environment.
• Bilingual English/French is a strong plus given Quebec client base, but not required for US candidates.

Responsibilities

• Support investment research, diligence materials, and investment memos.
• Build revenue, cost, cash flow, scenario, and sensitivity models for advisory clients and opportunities.
• Prepare KPI dashboards, business cases, meeting notes, and follow-up tracking for client mandates.
• Develop and maintain dashboards tracking client KPIs, portfolio milestones, burn rates, and capital deployment.
• Observe select client/founder/investor meetings to capture action items and drive execution.

Advanceo is looking for a hungry, detail-oriented Finance & Investment Analyst Intern who wants to grow quickly, add real value, and earn a path into a longer-term or permanent role. This is a hands-on support role across Advanceo’s advisory platform and Advanceo Capital’s investment activities, with direct exposure to live business, investment, and transaction work.

The role is best suited for someone who is ambitious, analytical, strong in Excel, comfortable using AI tools, and not afraid to put in the hours when the work requires it. You will support the founder and senior team through financial modelling, diligence, research, KPI tracking, materials preparation, note-taking, and follow-up execution.

Your primary contribution will be strong back-end execution that helps the team move faster and deliver better work. You may sit in on selected client, founder, or investor meetings to observe, take notes, and help convert discussions into action items.

What You’ll Work On

• Investment support: Research and screen AI-native data companies, review pitch decks, organize diligence materials, support market and competitive research, and help prepare investment memos.
• Financial modelling and analysis: Build revenue, cost, cash flow, scenario, and sensitivity models for advisory clients, investment opportunities, acquisitions, new ventures, and capital raise materials.
• Client and advisory support: Support the senior team with back-end analysis, KPI dashboards, business case development, meeting preparation, note-taking, and follow-up tracking for selected client mandates.
• KPI and portfolio monitoring: Build and maintain dashboards tracking client KPIs, portfolio milestones, burn rates, capital deployment, and key operating metrics.
• Research and materials: Prepare industry research, comparable company analysis, diligence summaries, presentation support, and concise written analysis for internal and external use.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for a current student, recent graduate, or early-career candidate with a strong interest in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related analytical field. Prior exposure to investment banking, private equity, venture capital, M&A, transaction advisory, FP&A, accounting, family offices, or startup finance is a strong advantage.

The right person is strong in Excel, comfortable building models from scratch, curious about how businesses actually work, and able to use AI tools intelligently to accelerate research, analysis, writing, and reporting.

You should be reliable, self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable with ambiguity. This is a small firm environment: when you receive a task, you own it, deliver it on time, and flag issues early. We value people who are hungry to grow, willing to do excellent support work first, and serious about building long-term capability.

Bilingual English/French is a strong plus given our Quebec client base, but is not required for U.S.-based candidates.

Compensation and Structure

• Compensation: Paid internship, generally expected to range from C$24-C$32/hour in Canada or US$22-US$30/hour in the U.S., depending on experience, availability, technical ability, location, and fit. Exceptional candidates with strong prior deal, investment, or modelling experience may be considered above range.
• Duration: 4-6 months, with the goal of converting the right candidate into a longer-term or permanent role based on performance, fit, and firm needs.
• Structure: Part-time or full-time depending on availability and academic schedule, but candidates should be prepared for periods of heavier workload when live client, diligence, or transaction work requires it.
• Location: Greater Montreal preferred (Possibility for hybrid, 1-2 days in person). Remote candidates in Canada or the US only considered for strong applicants.
