Job summary

Rohit-Management-Inc in Ottawa seeks a seasoned Finance Business Partner to align Operations with Corporate Services. You will analyze projects, manage budgets, forecast cash flow, and provide insights to leaders to drive growth and efficiency.

Responsibilities include monthly variance analyses, billing oversight, and coordinating with Shared Services. A Bachelor’s in accounting/finance with 8+ years’ experience is required; property experience is a plus.

• Communicate and provide regular weekly reports to stakeholders.
• Prepare various analyses as required by management.
• Maintain and update information systems and databases with project data.
• Responsible for the billing process.
• Participate in month-end and year-end close; ensure revenue recognition.
• Act as Operations Controller and facilitate annual budget/forecast.
• Verify and validate project openings and modifications.
• Own accounting information system and data connectors; provide training.
• Assist leadership with performance reviews and staff development.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job description

Based in Ottawa, as the Ottawa and Saskatchewan Finance Business Partner, you will be the connection between Operations and Corporate Services, you will collaborate with stakeholders to identify and analyze opportunities for new investment and cost efficiency. You will interpret financial and operational reports and provide insights to our leaders – driving innovation. You will support the division in executing its growth plans and strategic investments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for driving financial analysis of projects, including the evaluation of revenue and work in progress- acts as financial advisor to Operations team
• Identification of financial risks/opportunities and responsible for implementation of risk mitigating controls.
• Anchor Cashflow projections for the business & build scenarios to help plan in advance for various financing opportunities.
• Designated liaison with broader shared services group; distilling, filtering and translating operational requests and Shared Services responses.
• Support Project Managers and Directors with the analysis of various operational reports, including variance analysis.
• On a monthly basis provide variance analysis for actuals vs. budget and forecast, focus is on interpretation of the data & responsible for operational explanations.
• Communicate and provide regular weekly reports to stakeholders.
• Prepare various analysis as required by management.
• Maintain and update various information systems and databases with project data.
• Responsibility for the billing process.
• Participate in the month-end and year-end close process for financial statements and certify all revenue is properly taken based on revenue recognition policy.
• Act as Operations Controller & facilitate the annual budget and financial forecast process from operations perspective.
• Verify and validate project opening and project modifications.
• Ownership for the accounting information system and data connectors. Facilitate training related to the accounting information system and other digital management tools.
• Assist operational lead in conducting performance reviews for subordinates, participate in setting objectives and identifying staff training requirements.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent practical experience.
• At least eight years of accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Experience of operating in a matrix reporting structure.
• Experience in leading and managing teams.
• Experience in internal controls and processes is an asset.
• Prior experience in Income Producing Properties, (Office, Retail, Residential) is preferred
