Job summary

Valard Construction is seeking a Utility Construction Labourer for our Lloydminster, SK project. You will support overhead and underground power line construction, perform brush cutting, and read construction drawings to execute designated tasks.

Responsibilities include hauling materials, cleaning up sites, assisting with framing, and salvaging work at existing facilities. The role requires flexibility for after-hours work and a valid driver’s license with a personal vehicle.

Qualifications

• Experience in a team-oriented construction environment.
• Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Must have own vehicle to get to site.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work outside for extended periods.
• Must be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol Test when starting and annually.

Responsibilities

• Support construction of new overhead and underground power lines and modifications.
• Provide brush cutting and tree trimming.
• Read and understand construction drawings for specific tasks given.
• Haul materials, which includes poles, to and from Work Sites in a safe and efficient manner.
• Clean up and dispose of any rock, rubble, trash, concrete and all other waste, debris and material generated.
• Assist with framing or installing structure components.
• Support salvaging work at existing electrical facilities.
• Complete time sheets, vehicle pre-trip inspections and other paperwork as assigned.
• Be available to handle urgent or emergency situations, and to restore or assist in restoring electrical service following outages during and after normal working hours including weekdays, weekends and statutory holidays
