Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of utility locating or similar damage-prevention experience.
• ORCGA Damage Prevention Technician certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and attend utility marking activities with locate providers, subcontractors, and project field teams.
• Review utility markings and proposed ground disturbance limits to identify and coordinate the resolution of missing, unclear, or conflicting information.
• Document and communicate field findings, requirements, and corrective actions to the project team.
• Conduct pre-activity briefings with field crews on utility markings, work limits, restrictions, and outstanding concerns.
• Monitor excavation and drilling activities and confirm compliance with the Damage Prevention Program, locate requirements, and approved work limits.
• Hold ground disturbance activities when locate requirements or approved work limits are not satisfied and coordinate the resolution and escalation of field locate issues.
• Support with other duties as needed.

PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canada’s largest airport for the future of air travel—including critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience.

JOB SUMMARY

The Field Utilities Coordinator will support safe excavation and drilling activities by coordinating utility locates and ground disturbance clearance in the field and implementing the Damage Prevention Program. Working closely with locate providers, subcontractors, the project team, and field crews, the role ensures that utility markings and excavation limits are clearly understood, documented, communicated, and maintained from the initial marking through execution of the work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

WORKING CONDITIONS

The position will be based at our office in Mississauga, Ontario, with visits to the Airport site as required. Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday during regular office or site hours. At times, operational needs may require work outside these hours, with reasonable notice provided. All schedule or on call adjustments will comply with applicable employment standards legislation. It is mandatory for all employees to complete a Criminal Background check and successfully attain a Restricted Access Identity Card (RAIC) upon joining the company.

DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of utility locating or comparable damage-prevention experience.
• ORCGA Damage Prevention Technician certification, or equivalent utility-owner/locate-provider training, is considered an asset.
• Strong interest in supporting large infrastructure projects.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with GTAA or other major airport procedures is considered an asset.
• Valid driver’s license and eligibility for RAIC clearance required.
