A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Field Service Technician, your day involves hands‑on work with high‑voltage instrument transformers across customer sites in the USA and Canada. You’ll perform inspections, maintenance, testing, and repairs, ensuring equipment reliability and safety. You’ll collaborate with service teams, support warranty cases, and contribute to defining service scope during site visits. Your technical expertise will be key in executing service tasks, supporting customers, and delivering training when needed.

Your Tasks:
  • Perform on‑site inspections, testing, maintenance, and repair of instrument transformers and high‑voltage equipment.
  • Conduct site visits to assess equipment condition and define service scope, including preparing technical inputs for quotations and timelines.
  • Support warranty cases by troubleshooting issues and coordinating with internal and third‑party teams until resolution.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers and partners on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Document service activities, findings, and recommendations in detailed reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures during all field operations.
  • Collaborate with service operations and engineering teams to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and service documentation in good working order.
  • Travel frequently to customer sites across the USA and Canada (estimated 40–80%).
Requirements:
  • Technical diploma or associate degree in electrical engineering, electromechanics, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree is an asset).
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience with high‑voltage equipment or instrument transformers preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical testing, diagnostics, and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
  • Experience in field service, site inspections, and warranty support.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service orientation.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (40–80%) across North America.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and field service best practices.
  • Experience with SAP or other service management tools is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
