Job description

Summary

STERIS’ Field Service Technician I will be responsible for frontline Customer support, using technical ability to perform or assist in preventative and corrective maintenance, either on-site or remotely, using various technology, tests, and procedures of AST equipment (Applied Sterilization Technologies).

The position contributes to STERIS’ safety culture and ensure compliance to all policies, procedures, and global code of conduct.

Must have the ability to obtain a passport and have the ability to travel internationally by plane 20%-30%.

What you’ll do as a Field Service Technician
  • You will contribute in a team effort by performing in accordance with all STERIS policies, GMP, Lean principles and other directives.
  • You’ll support the directives and decisions of higher level management.
  • Utilize collaborative service tools and systems, as well as data collection tools to gather diagnostic information for analysis. Locate and reads system schematics, drawings and documentation.
  • Participate in the assembly and installation of complex equipment, primarily as a development opportunity, and will perform service and installation.
  • You’ll document service and produce timely/ detailed service reports, including what work was completed, what parts need to be sent, next steps, and final resolution status.
Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
Required:
  • Must be able to obtain a passport and have the ability to travel internationally 20%-30%
  • Vocational/ Technical Degree or Associates Degree and 2 years of experience in any of these areas or a combination: mechanical, electro-mechanical, millwright, robotics/ automation, PLC / software development or control systems
  • In lieu of degree, high school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in any of these areas or a combination: mechanical, electro-mechanical, millwright, robotics/ automation, PLC / software development or control systems
  • Must have a valid provincial driver’s license with acceptable record and must maintain all required vaccines
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, components, tests, tools, and principles
  • Experience in repairing, testing and maintaining technical equipment using various electro-mechanical tools
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues and work cross functionally among teams
  • Able to meet all required Customer credentialing requirements
