Job summary

Sandvik Mining is seeking a Field Service Technician (Surface Drills) based in Stratton, Ontario. You will troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical and electrical systems on surface mining equipment and contribute to commissioning and on-site training when required.

Qualifications

• Trade certification is required; Red Seal asset.
• Excellent proficiency in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues with mining equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to local mine sites and across Canada as required.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment for proper performance and determine faults and malfunctions.
• Adjust equipment; repair/replace defective parts, components, or systems according to the scope of work.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance.
• Commissioning new equipment.
• Actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists.
• Staying current with the industry, customers, product developments and technical best practices.
• Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
• Maintain safety policies and report unsafe practices; perform risk assessments.”
• Wear the required PPE and keep work area clean and orderly.
