Team you belong to
You will join a team of Field Service experts committed to the repair, maintenance and installation of Metso’s mining process equipment.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare for Growth: Before heading to a field assignment, you’ll dive deep into the detailed scope of work, drawings, company procedures, and specific instructions to ensure you’re fully prepared.
- Collaborate with Experts: Work closely with Metso’s technical support staff to leverage their expertise.
- Provide Expert Guidance: Offer advisory services during installation, checkout, start-up and commissioning phases.
- Coordinate Activities: Liaise with customers and their contractors to ensure smooth field operations.
- Support Execution: Assist customers in maintaining the field schedule and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Safety First: Guide mill or contractor crews in safely performing maintenance, repairs and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot & Repair: Address mechanical issues and assist with corrective actions and repairs.
- Optimize Operations: Recommend operating and maintenance procedures to ensure equipment functions properly.
- Train & Educate: Train customer staff on proper maintenance and repair methods.
- Document & Report: Write detailed field reports outlining problems encountered, actions taken and future recommendations.
- Innovate & Improve: Suggest improvements to field methods and efficiency when appropriate.
- Track Expenses: Submit expense statements in line with Metso’s travel policies and procedures.
- Versatile Service: Take on other service‑related tasks as requested by the Field Service Manager.
- Travel Ready: Be prepared for both domestic and international travel as needed.
- Adapt & Excel: Perform other miscellaneous tasks and special projects as required.
Who You Are
- Certified & Experienced: Millwright certification or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years in field service.
- Globally Ready: Valid Canadian passport and driver’s license.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to coordinate, plan and organise field service assignments.
- Customer‑Focused: Motivated and oriented towards customer satisfaction.
- Expert Communicator: High communication skills with mandatory fluency in English (oral and written) and preferred fluency in French (oral and written).
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings in both the English and metric systems.
- Product Knowledge: Familiarity with Metso’s equipment.
- Tech‑Savvy: Adequate computer skills, capable of working with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Travel Enthusiast: Willingness to travel to job sites, including extended periods, up to 70% of the time.
- Pressure Performer: Capable of handling tasks in a time‑sensitive setting, with the potential for 16‑hour workdays.
- Emergency Ready: Willingness to respond to field service emergency calls on a 24/7 basis.
- Policy Adherent: Apply and respect company policies, objectives, goals, safety, and ISO 9001 quality standards.
