Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Dispatchable Field Service Representative to provide operations and maintenance expertise on water treatment systems, including UF, RO, and ion exchange. The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, site documentation, and customer training across multiple industries.

You will travel frequently (Canada to the US), install and service UF membranes, and ensure contract compliance while collaborating with customer management and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years in service/maintenance in an industrial environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely with project teams.
• Willingness to travel frequently between Canada and the US.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, process and controls on equipment such as valves, air compressors, pumps, instrumentation and automation hardware.
• Create and maintain site paperwork; provide customers with detailed technical summaries of work performed.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and chemicals; ensure adequate supply on site.
• Monitor and maintain chemical injection systems and site testing (turbidity, pH, chlorine, etc.).
• Review customer plant installations against reference drawings (P&IDs, electrical schematics).
• Train customer operators on operation and maintenance of their system.
• Handle other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:As a Dispatchable Field Service Representative, you’ll be on the front lines providing operations and maintenance expertise on water treatment systems for our customers from one of a variety of industries. This mission critical role involves working on a variety of technologies focusing on ultrafiltration (UF) but including, media filtration, softening, reverse osmosis (RO), ion exchange (IX), de-oxygenation and electro deionization.

Key Characteristics

• Conduct maintenance and calibration activities on various treatment plant instrumentation
• Consult with customer management and operation teams
• Ensure contract compliance of volume and quality specifications
• Monitor and optimize equipment performance
• Install and provide maintenance activities on various UF membrane configurations
• Provide excellent mechanical know how and problem-solving skills

Duties & Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, process and controls on equipment such as valves, air compressors, ejectors pumps, blowers, instrumentation, chemical injection systems and automation hardware
• Create and maintain site paperwork, and provide customers with detailed technical summaries of work performed
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and adequate supply of chemicals and replacement parts
• Monitor and maintain chemical injection systems
• Perform analytical testing such as: turbidity, hardness, chlorine, pH, CO2, O2, SDI, TOC, in addition to various other site-specific testing requirements
• Review customer plant installations and compare against WTS reference drawings (P&IDs, electrical schematics, general arrangement, etc.)
• Train customer operators around operation and maintenance of their system
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely with project teams
• Provide customers with informal training around operation and maintenance of their system

Education & Experience Required:

• High School Diploma / GED / Home School Certification OR international equivalent 2+ years’ experience of service/maintenance or equivalent in an industrial environment
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must be able to travel frequently from Canada to the U.S.

Preferred:

• Bachelor or Associates Degree in Science/Engineering (STEM) or technical certificate in Instrumentation
• Duel Citizenship (US / CAN) is preferred.

Working Conditions

• 80% Travel
• Ability to travel and work in Canada and US (Veolia to provide Permits/Visas)
