Job summary

Sandvik Mining is seeking a Field Service Operations Manager to lead Field Service Technicians in Saskatoon. The role focuses on operational excellence, safety compliance, customer partnership, and continuous improvement.

You will drive service delivery, resource planning, and team development in a customer-focused environment, applying knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, electricity, automation, pneumatics, and materials. Expect ~50% travel across Saskatchewan.

Qualifications

• Degree, certificate, or diploma in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Preferred experience in Mechanical Cutting Mining Systems
• Technical background in Mechanical Cutting Equipment is considered an asset.
• Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance management or field service operations experience, preferably in mining or heavy equipment.
• Valid driver's licence; bilingualism is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Direct and organize daily field service ops, including equipment commissioning, service calls, and warranty cases.
• Coordinate customer training and technical support.
• Execute contracts in scope, deliverables and terms.
• Ensure accurate maintenance logs, work orders, labour entries, parts usage, and service notes in the CMMS.
• Travel as required to oversee customer operations across Saskatchewan; ~50% travel.
• Build and mentor a high-performing technical team.
• Review maintenance KPIs and develop action plans to improve equipment efficiency and availability.
• Report KPIs, objectives, risks, mitigations, and achievements to senior management.

What you will be doing

• Direct and organize daily field service operations, including equipment commissioning, service calls, and warranty cases.
• Coordinate customer training and technical support.
• Execute contracts in accordance with scope, deliverables, and commercial terms.
• Ensure accurate maintenance logs, work orders, labour entries, parts usage, and service notes in the CMMS.
• Support timely invoicing by validating documentation, approvals, and charge capture.
• Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing technical team.
• Develop competency in bulletin management, warranty handling, and technical troubleshooting.
• Foster accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain communication with customers and internal stakeholders to align priorities and resolve issues.
• Review maintenance KPIs and develop action plans to improve equipment efficiency and availability.
• Report KPIs, objectives, risks, mitigations, and achievements to senior management.
• Identify process optimization opportunities and lead productivity initiatives.
• Planning tools, test equipment, spare parts, logistics, permits, and access for service work.
• Maintain systems-level knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, electricity, automation, pneumatics, and materials.
• Travel as required to oversee customer operations across Saskatchewan; approximately 50% travel is expected.
• Other duties as assigned
