Job summary

The Canadian Institute for Safety, Wellness, and Performance (CISWP) is seeking a Research Technician to provide essential technical, logistical, and administrative support for field and laboratory research in Saskatchewan. The role involves data collection, equipment maintenance, and adherence to study protocols at CISWP locations and field sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Factors & Ergonomics, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Health Studies, or Occupational Health & Safety.
• Minimum two (2) years of related experience (incl. co-op or internship).
• Proficiency with data entry/spreadsheets (Excel), basic SPSS and NVivo.
• Understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods in applied settings.
• Familiarity with surveys, interviews, observation data collection, and safety protocols (PPE, WHMIS).
• Strong organizational skills, time management, and ability to work independently or in teams.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within Saskatchewan.

Responsibilities

• Field and Laboratory Research Support: data collection, surveys, interviews, and measurements.
• Data management: entry, cleaning, preparation, processing or analysis under supervision.
• Provide technical/logistical support during field/lab data collection.
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, and assemble human measurement equipment.
• Recruit and inform participants, ensuring protocol adherence.
• Support CISWP field research programs such as DOSE and MOSAIC.
• Field readiness across varied environments with site safety requirements.
• Adapt and solve on-site equipment issues.
