Job summary

Canadian Institute for Safety Wellness & Performance CISWP seeks a Research Technician to support field and laboratory-based research. You will participate in data collection, equipment maintenance, and adherence to research protocols, with travel across Ontario and on-site work in Cambridge, ON.

Role involves coordinating data management, participant communication, and providing technical support to ensure smooth project execution across CISWP programs like DOSE and MOSAIC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in one of the following or related fields (Biomedical Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Human Factors & Ergonomics, Kinesiology, Biomechanics).
• Minimum two (2) years of related experience (co-op or internship accepted).
• Experience with human measurement techniques, including 3D scanning and wearable sensor technologies is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support qualitative and quantitative data collection activities, including fieldwork and surveys.
• Assist with data management, including data entry, cleaning, and processing.
• Provide technical and logistical support during field and lab data collection.
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, and assemble human measurement equipment.
• Recruit and inform research participants, ensuring clear communication of procedures.
• Support large field research programs such as DOSE and MOSAIC.
