Job summary

Spear Bio Inc. seeks a Field Application Scientist to support customers, train teams, and perform hands-on demonstrations of the SPEAR UltraDetect platform. You will collaborate with RUO, pharma, and academic partners to showcase workflow performance and data-driven results.

The role requires 2+ years in immunoassays, solid troubleshooting skills, and the flexibility to travel up to 40% with on-site work in Woburn, MA when not traveling. A PhD/MS in relevant fields is preferred.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, or Bioengineering.
• 2+ years hands-on lab and troubleshooting experience with immunoassays and instrumentation for biomarker analysis; scientists in related fields also considered.
• 2+ years in-person customer pre- and post-sales, demos, and complex troubleshooting as a field scientist or technical sales professional.
• Demonstrated resourcefulness and ability to independently implement new technologies and troubleshoot instrument or assay performance issues.
• Experience with qPCR and liquid handling machines.
• Knowledge of neurodegenerative disease research with network in drug development, academia, or CROs preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 40% (including overnights), with occasional international travel.

Responsibilities

• Support and train external customers, internal scientists, and partners on SPEAR UltraDetect immunoassay technology and workflow.
• Drive adoption of the SPEAR platform with on-site demos, training, collaborative projects, and support via email/phone.
• Perform client sample testing for platform evaluations, generate data, and present performance results to clients.
• Develop new applications for current products and generate data and technical collateral including application notes and conference presentations.
• Improve workflow processes when troubleshooting immunoassay challenges and identify solutions to ensure product performance.
