Our client specializing in the engineering and deployment of fiber optic telecommunications networks is looking for a Fibre Field Supervisor in support of their Ontario projects.
Responsibilities
- Be the hands‑on site supervisor for various fibre installs and equipment deployment
- Work and coordinate with selected installers, suppliers and partners
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of the fibre telecommunications team
- Interface between the field operations team and operations, project coordinators for on‑going builds and upcoming builds
- Manage the distribution of required equipment and materials for site deployment as well track and manage inventory
- Drive the construction schedule in conjunction with project team; ensure project milestones and completion dates are met
- Conduct site meets with the City/Municipality to ensure correct areas are being marked
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and company policies
- Anticipate issues in complex situations and creating solutions in the construction plan and schedule
- Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including reports, logs and documentation
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with fibre optics cable network installs
- Interest/exposure to supervising field fibre installs
- Experience dealing with 3 rd party telecommunication installers/technicians
- Ability to lead technicians, installers and service providers
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed
This is a permanent role on‑site role based in Chatham‑Kent, Ontario with rooming provided if required.
