We currently have immediate openings for Fiber Technician(s) in the Greater Toronto Area. Candidates would possess a strong work ethic, good communication skills, be a team player, positive attitude, take initiative and a desire to excel within company opportunities. Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada (Citizens, Permanent resident or Valid Permit Holders) and reside in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include all aspects relative to Fiber Optic splicing. Performing activities related to connecting, troubleshooting, testing and validating the integrity of new and existing outside plant telecommunication networks. The position is full time, consisting a minimum of forty (40) hours per week. Successful candidate(s) must have a minimum of 2 years experience, a strong work ethic and must have a valid Ontario Drivers license.

Qualifications
  • Experience on telecommunications network, preferably in Rogers & Bell Networks
  • Troubleshooting & problem solving experience required
  • In depth knowledge of OTDR testing
  • Experience with fibre identifiers, single fibre and ribbonizing fusion sets
  • Experience working in manholes & confined spaces
  • Will be able to document all required information on drawings as work progresses
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques of the trade
  • The ability to work in all weather conditions, confined spaces, isolation, and at heights
  • The ability to work in a physically demanding industry
  • Self-disciplined, motivated and organized individual
  • Will perform all other duties as required by departmental manager
