Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a Fence Labourer to join our Ottawa team. The role involves organizing fencing and equipment in the yard, loading and installing fence at customer sites, and ensuring safe, timely delivery.

You will inspect equipment and assist with inventory reconciliation, maintaining clean facilities and supporting branch operations. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in fencing or general labour, a valid G/5 license, and comfort working outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related work experience in Fence/ Scaffolding Labourer, General Labourer, Yard Coordinator, or similar role.
• Valid Class G/5 driver’s license with clean abstract (copy may be requested).
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

## Fence LabourerApply: Onsite: Work Zone Safety Division - Ottawa, ON: Full time: Posted 30+ Days Ago: 2026-R112**Build your Career at Cooper Equipment Rentals**We are looking for customer-oriented, motivatedindividuals to join our professional team.*Please note, to be considered for this position applicants should currently be residing in Canada and legally entitled to work.***What You’ll Be Doing** *Duties and Responsibilities:** Organize and maintain fencing and equipment in the yard and warehouse to ensure efficient flow and accessibility.* Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with inventory reconciliation.* Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the facility to support smooth equipment movement and operations.* Safely load and secure temporary fencing for transport (and unload at jobsites and when returned to the branch yard).* Assist with loading and unloading other construction equipment as needed.* Deliver, install, remove, and pick up construction fence at customer locations in a safe and timely manner (often involves manually carrying fence panels a distance from the truck to the installation spot)* Clean fencing when it returns from customer jobsites.* Inspect equipment for damage upon return and notify supervisor or branch manager of damaged or broken fence materials.* Identify and report potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions.* Safely operate equipment following all company policies and procedures.* Coordinate with teammates at the branch to resolve inventory or order issues.* Assist with the delivery of small tools and equipment to job sites for our general construction equipment branch when required.**What You’ll Bring to the Team** *Qualifications and Requirements:** 2+ years of related work experience in a Fence / Scaffolding Labourer, General Labourer, Yard Coordinator, or similar role is preferred.* Valid Class G/5 driver’s license required, with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points). You’ll be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.* Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.* Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.* Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools is an asset.* Forklift license or experience operating forklifts and/or other construction equipment is preferred.* Knowledge of construction tools, equipment and materials would be an asset.* Familiarity with inventory systems, shipping/receiving, and warehouse best practices is an asset.* Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.* Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.* Self-starter, very customer-service oriented and works well in a team environment.* Curiosity to learn new things & understand more about construction equipment and the rental industry.* Comfortable with computers/technology (for filling out inspections, inventory management, etc.)#SJ1 Want to learn more about career opportunities at Cooper Equipment Rentals?
