Job summary

Kotn is seeking a Design Assistant to support the Design team in Toronto, contributing to tech pack creation, product execution, and research. The role blends creative and administrative tasks and requires in-office presence 4 to 5 days a week.

You will work closely with the Senior Designer to maintain samples, records, and libraries in the PLM system, while developing concepts and supporting styling across collections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or equivalent.
• 0 to 3 years of experience in an apparel design environment.
• Highly proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Basic computer software skills, including Google Sheets and ChatGPT.
• Keen eye for product design details and quality.

Responsibilities

• Tech Pack Creation and Product Execution, including style numbers, descriptions, fit, fabric and trim.
• Illustrator sketching—proportional, accurate technical sketches detailing construction.
• Organize and maintain product libraries and PLM records.
• Assist in Bill of Materials updates in the Technical Pack as directed by the Senior Designer.
• Record and sample maintenance; organize samples, trims, lab dips, and prototypes for approval.
• Support internal presentations, sample tagging, organization and steaming.
• Research and style development; conduct competitive research and cross-functional support.
