Job summary

Kind-Hearted Farm Ltd. in Mission, BC invites applications for the Farm worker, vegetables position. The successful candidate will work under day shifts and contribute to crop care, harvesting, and maintaining greenhouse and vineyard operations.

This is permanent full-time employment with 40 hours per week at $19.00 hourly. Room and board provided, relocation costs covered, and health and financial benefits available.

Responsibilities

• Clean crops and greenhouse areas.
• Deleaf and harvest vegetables by hand.

• Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops; seed cutting and culling.
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment; inspect product quality for market.

• The candidate will be in charge of cleaning the crop.
• The candidate will be in charge of deleafing.
• The candidate will be in charge of cleaning the greenhouse.
• The candidate will be in charge of harvesting vegetables by hand.
• The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and managing vine growth, vine canopy, and grapes.
• The candidate will be responsible for permaculture.
• The candidate will be expected to plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops.
• The candidate will be in charge of seed cutting.
• The candidate will be in charge of vegetable culling.
• The candidate will be in charge of weeding.
• The candidate will be in charge of harvesting crops.
• The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
• The candidate will be expected to inspect the product for quality and prepare it for market.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate should have minimum qualification of Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related industry.
• Farm operations include chicken farming, corn farming, fruit and vegetable combination farming, and organic farming.
• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

• The candidate must be willing to work in a rural area.
