Job summary

Autism Services in Canada seeks a farm worker to support beef cattle ranching and farming activities in a rural setting.

Responsibilities include clearing brush, directing feed inventory, handling animals, monitoring calving and health, organizing tasks, and helping develop and implement farm safety and bio-security procedures; staff accommodation is provided and transportation is arranged by the employer.

  • Direct farm feed inventory activities
  • Handling animals
  • Monitor the calving process
  • Monitoring animal health
  • Organize tasks to accomplish the work
  • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
  • Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
  • Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
  • Formulate feeding program
  • Maintain livestock performance records
  • Select livestock for sale
  • Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs
  • Maintain work records and logs
