Overview

Family Practitioner, Forensic Assertive Community Treatment team (FACT) – Surrey, BC. Regular, Part Time position with BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services (BCMHSUS).

BCMHSUS provides specialized mental health and substance use services to adults across the province and leads system-wide improvement through health promotion, knowledge exchange, research and teaching.

Responsibilities
  • Be an important member of the multidisciplinary FACT team, providing quality care for clients and helping them live an active life as they reintegrate into the community.
  • Work within a new service delivery model to support clients with enhanced care needs who are involved in the criminal justice system.
  • Collaborate with other health care professionals on a supportive, inter-professional team in an environment that supports professional growth as a Primary Care Practitioner.
  • Serve a population with complex psychiatric needs in the community setting.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience working with patients across a broad spectrum of psychiatric illness, substance use disorders, and personality difficulties is an advantage.
  • Eligible for provisional or full licensure with CPSBC.
  • Certification with the College of Family Physicians, or equivalent, is mandatory.
  • Experience in Correctional Health and/or additional certification or training is an asset.
