Job summary

Saskdocs Humboldt Medical Clinic in Humboldt, Saskatchewan invites a team-oriented family physician to join our community practice.

You will provide primary care, participate in on-site ER coverage, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support acute care and emergency services.

The role offers opportunities for involvement in medical education and SHA initiatives, with potential relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Certified or eligible to be certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
• Regular or Provisional License with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) (or eligible to be licensed).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Recommended - Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Successful SHA credentialing including but not limited to acceptable reference checks and criminal record check with vulnerable sector.
• Current Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary health care services within a multi-disciplinary team for Humboldt community.
• Participate in on-site ER coverage (currently 1:14) remunerated via Rural Emergency Room Agreement.
• Collaborate with other medical professionals to support acute care and emergency services.
• Engage in academic activities with the Department of Family Medicine and SHA educational initiatives.

On-site Emergency Room coverage is required 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

Emergency room coverage will be remunerated through the Rural Emergency Room Stabilization Agreement for Services at$233.20/hour from 0800-1700 and $268.47/hour from 1700-0800

Job Description

The community of Humboldt, located in Southeast Saskatchewan, is seeking a team orientated and professional family physician to join the Humboldt Medical Clinic. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team providing primary health care services to the community of Humboldt and surrounding area and will work collaboratively with other medical professionals to support the acute care and emergency services in the area.

The Humboldt District Health Complex provides a wide variety of services including obstetrics, coronary care, OR, diagnostics, and 24 hour on site emergency care. Physicians working in Humboldt will participate in providing on-site ER coverage (currently 1:14) which is remunerated through the Rural Emergency Room Agreement for Services.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the educational needs of medical students, residents, nursing staff and allied health professionals. The successful candidate will be encouraged to become involved in the academic efforts in the Department of Family Medicine in our area.

This position will remain open until filled and may be filled prior to the posted closing date

Relocation Package

The successful candidate may be eligible for:

• The SMA Retention Fund , which provides financial reward to physicians who practice in the province for extended periods ranging from $7,000 - $14,000 per year for fulltime work.
