Job summary

Menlo Park Recruitment is helping a Calgary-area practice recruit a GP to join a ready-made patient panel in Chestermere. You will have full autonomy over consultation length, with no fixed slots, and a potential annual earnings of CAD 350,000 to 500,000.

On-site pharmacy and physiotherapy support, flexible pay frequency, and a five-year option available. The role involves a full eight-hour day with two Saturdays monthly and Sundays off in exchange, in a multicultural community near Calgary.

Qualifications

• MRCGP or equivalent qualification required.
• Eligibility for College of Family Physicians of Canada registration.
• Existing right to work in Canada (PR/citizenship or equivalent).
• Ability to work independently across a broad case mix, from minor procedures to chronic disease management.

Responsibilities

• Work independently with full autonomy over consultation length.
• Manage a diverse patient panel with gynaecology, prenatal and geriatric care.
• Provide minor surgical procedures when needed and coordinate with on-site services.
• Deliver high-quality care in a multicultural, multilingual setting.

Job Summary

This is a rare opportunity to step into an established, ready-made patient panel earning up to CAD $500,000 (approximately £270,000) a year, in a fast-growing lakeside community just 20 minutes from Calgary. Two of the practice's GPs are already at full capacity, and with full autonomy over your own consultation length, patient demand here is immediate from day one. The Practice Ready-made panel - two of the practice's GPs are already at full capacity, so patient flow is immediate, not something you have to build from scratch. FFS model with full autonomy - doctors set their own consultation length, from five minutes to 45, with no fixed time slots. A small, established team of three family physicians, described as friendly, sociable and collaborative, with Saturday cover shared fairly across everyone rather than left to one person. Genuine variety - minor surgical procedures, women's health, prenatal and geriatric care, chronic disease management, WCB and driver's medical assessments. On-site pharmacy and physiotherapy for easy patient referral, in a newer estate neighbourhood close to shops and family amenities.

Benefits

• Earning potential of CAD $350,000 to $500,000 a year (approximately £190,000 to £270,000), depending on the hours you work and the size of the panel you build, with no cap on what you can earn.


• Keep 70% of billings for your first three years, rising to 75% in years four and five on a five-year contract.


• A small BCP administrative charge (around $3 CAD per visit) is deducted automatically - you never need to bill for it yourself.


• Choose a three or five-year contract to suit your own plans.


• Flexible pay frequency - billings are paid monthly as standard, with bi-weekly payment available on request.


• Full-time role built around an eight-hour day, typically 9am to 6pm, with two Saturdays a month and the following Sunday off in exchange.

Location Overview

Chestermere is built around its own lake - swimming, paddleboarding, boating and a scenic pathway loop keep the community outdoors, with an 18-hole course at Lakeside Golf Club for good measure. Anniversary Park's beach is the summer focal point for family life, and Calgary's city centre is a straightforward 20 to 25-minute drive away via Glenmore Trail and the Trans-Canada Highway. The clinic sits in Kinniburgh, a newer estate neighbourhood close to shops and family amenities, in one of the fastest-growing communities in the Calgary Metropolitan Region.

Skills and Requirements

• MRCGP or equivalent qualification, with eligibility for College of Family Physicians of Canada registration.


• Existing right to work in Canada (PR, citizenship, or equivalent status) - this role does not include visa sponsorship.


• Comfortable working independently across a broad case mix, from minor surgery to chronic disease management.


• A genuine interest in working within a multicultural, multilingual patient population.


• The practice has a particular need for a female GP given current patient demand, though this is not a strict requirement.
