Job summary

Village Church Calgary is seeking a Family Ministries Associate (Village Kids & Youth) to oversee the Sunday and midweek ministry for children and families. The role ensures discipleship, connections, and care through the Family Ministry systems, volunteers, and events.

You will recruit, train, and support volunteers, coordinate classroom preparation, and manage communications and budget. The position is 20 hrs/week with Sundays plus occasional evenings, reporting to the Lead Pastor.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and support the Family Ministries volunteer team.
• Coordinate Sunday classroom and midweek youth preparation (curriculum, supplies, crafts, resources).
• Send weekly lesson communications so volunteers are set up for success.
• Run monthly Lead Team meetings and bi-annual volunteer trainings.
• Organize quarterly Parent Labs/Huddles.
• Manage the Family Ministry budget and support yearly strategy planning.
• Keep classrooms equipped and ready, and volunteer records up to date.
• Write a monthly Family Ministry newsletter.
• Partner with the Family Ministry Director and staff team on church-wide initiatives and events.
• Help create a safe, welcoming, excellent environment for kids and families.

Family Ministries Associate (Village Kids & Youth) — Calgary

About the Role

The Family Ministries Associate ensures kids and youth attending Village Church Calgary are connected, cared for, and experiencing great discipleship every Sunday. This role owns the Family Ministry systems, standards, and volunteer team — recruiting, training, and caring for the people who make Sunday mornings and midweek youth ministry happen.
