Qualifications

• 2 years to less than 3 years of experience is required.
• Licensure by provincial/territorial authorities is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Collect medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals.
• Examine patients’ health conditions to identify diseases and injuries.
• Help patients develop healthy habits and reshape their approach to wellness.
• Order laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures.
• Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' health.
• Prescribe medications and treatments.
• Inoculate and vaccinate patients.
• Advise patients on health care.
• Co-ordinate or manage primary patient care.
• Provide counselling and support to patients and their families.
