Our client, a well-established law firm in downtown Ottawa, is seeking a Family Law Lawyer with 2–5 years of experience to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated lawyer who is looking to build their practice in a supportive, client-focused environment.
Represent clients in family law matters before the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice
Manage a steady caseload, including hearings, conferences, motions, and trials
Attend court proceedings and advocate effectively on behalf of clients
Oversee and manage legal issues arising between family members, including separation, divorce, parenting, and support matters
Supervise and participate in mediation and settlement discussions
Provide clear, practical legal advice to clients and internal staff
Maintain organized and accurate case files, including drafting and filing court documents
Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and manage expectations
Collaborate with caseworkers, supervisors, and administrative staff as required
Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
2–5 years of experience practicing family law
Courtroom experience and confidence managing files independently
An existing book of business is an asset but not required
Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset but not required
Strong time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Competitive salary of $90,000–$115,000 (based on experience)
