Job summary

Catholic Social Services in Red Deer is seeking a casual Family Enrichment Worker to join the Family Intervention team. You will provide high-quality supports to children and families, teach parenting and communication skills, and transport children to family visitations.

We value organized professionals who can work independently and within a team, with strong documentation habits and client-centered care in a faith-guided agency.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Human Services (or equivalent).
• Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children and families is preferred.
• Experience working with children with developmental disabilities is asset.
• In-home family support experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of addictions and mental health issues is asset.
• Valid First Aid/CPR is asset.
• Vulnerable Sector Check from local RCMP or city police detachment; Child Intervention Record Check; Clear and Current Drivers Abstract; vehicle with valid license and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Teach parenting and communication skills.
• Support and transport children to family visitations.
• Provide high-quality supports to children and families as a mentor.
• Document important files and notes concisely and accurately.
• Work independently and as part of a service team.

Catholic Social Services is currently seeking a casual Family Enrichment Worker in Red Deer to join our Family Intervention team. Providing excellent client-centered care, you are confident, thoughtful, and motivated to achieve success when supporting others in your community!

Job Summary:

The Family Intervention Program provides family support services to strengthen the efforts and abilities of the family to provide a safe and nurturing environment for their children. In this role, you will provide high quality supports to children and families as well as act as a mentor. You will teach parenting and communication skills, as well as support and transport children to family visitations.You are self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working both independently and part of a service team. You are organized, have great relationship building skills, and are proficient with computers. As documentation is important in this role, you will be confident in your ability to create organized, concise files and notes.

What This Job Requires:

• A Diploma/Degree inHuman Services (or equivalent)
• Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children and families is preferred
• Experience working with children with developmental disabilities is considered an asset
• In-home family support experience is preferred
• Knowledge of addictions and mental health issues is considered an asset
• Valid First Aid/CPR is considered an asset

• A vehicle and valid class 5 driver's license – requirement to transport clients in your personal vehicle
• Proof of Vehicle Insurance showing $2 million liability coverage
• Proof of Vehicle Registration for insured vehicle
