Job Description

Experiencing warm and engaging service in luxurious surroundings is turning moments into memories for our guests at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. As the Assistant Laundry Manager, your care and attention to detail in our laundry operation will ensure exceptional standards for our hotel lines—you will take pride in the role you play facilitating a memorable guest stay.

Responsibilities

• Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
• Follow departmental policies, procedures, and service standards
• Ensure the upkeep of all Laundry/Valet areas in respect to complete care, cleanliness and maintenance
• Train and supervise all employees within Laundry/Valet department
• Work with employees on a daily basis to upgrade skills and decision making
• Monitor health and safety regulations and W.H.I.M.S. training
• Active supporter of hotel committees
• Ensure all equipment within the department is maintained and is in good working order
• General office administration, which includes town contracts, payroll, scheduling, ordering supplies and inventory control
• Performance evaluation of all Laundry/Valet colleagues
• Conduct and follow up on monthly communication meetings
• Ensure all areas of food & beverage, housekeeping and linen closets are stocked and maintained
• Ensure guest requests are dealt with in a timely manner
• Assume the operations in the absence of the Laundry Manager
• Adhere to the hotels vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guests' vehicles
• Follow policies, procedures and service standards
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience required
• Laundry experience an asset
• Valid Alberta driver’s license required; ability to drive standard vehicle an asset
• Able to work flexible hours over a 24‑hour period
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to make decisions
• Must be in good physical condition
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervisor
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Visa Requirements

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
