Position Summary

BCIT’s School of Business + Media is seeking a temporary, part-time (0.20 FTE ) faculty member to teach in the Graphic Communications Diploma GCOM 4250 New Technologies and Cross Media Applications. The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic, team-oriented professional with broad, practical knowledge within the Graphic Communications industry. We are seeking an individual who is committed to quality and innovation in meeting our students’ needs and who values the importance of teamwork in the workplace.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful applicant can expect to be assigned courses across a range of instructional areas within the Graphics Communications diploma and must have a strong commitment to teaching and interacting with students, an ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and interest in developing and delivering quality curriculum, for an industry that’s fast changing.

Qualifications
  • Educational background in graphic communications or digital media: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combined education and experience) in Graphic Communications, Digital Publishing, Web Development, or a closely related field.
  • Professional experience in e-commerce and online workflows: Minimum 3–5 years of industry experience implementing and managing web-to-print services, PDF workflows, online estimating, and transaction systems.
  • Technical proficiency in digital publishing and emerging technologies: Demonstrated expertise with interactive PDFs in a professional context.
  • Knowledge of cross-media marketing integration: Proven ability to design and execute campaigns that leverage tools for the graphic communications industry.
  • Teaching, training, or mentoring experience: Prior experience delivering instruction, workshops, or corporate training, with strong communication skills and the ability to engage diverse learners.
  • Experience in Variable-Data and Cross Media applications like XMPie and PlanetPress is an asset.

Salary Range

$65,045 - $113,545 per annum

Additional Salary Information

Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
