Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a skilled trades professional for a term position until the incumbent returns. The role involves maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems in a facilities setting.

A Refrigeration Operator certification is required, with RSA/IFO options to obtain RO within 24 months, plus a Pool Operator Certificate and First Aid. Minimum of Grade 12 or GED is required, with at least three years of broad-based experience in multiple trades.

Job description

POSTING TYPE: Internal

HOURS OF WORK: 40-hour work week, as per schedule
HOURLY RATE: $37.76 per hour, Schedule “B” Outside Employees

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

• Grade 12 Diploma or GED

LICENSES / CERTIFICATES

• BC or Interprovincial certification as a Refrigeration Operator (RO).
• RSA or IFO qualifications will be considered if candidate commits to acquiring a Refrigeration Operator (RO) certification within 24 months.
• Pool Operator Certificate – Level 1 and 2.
• Current First Aid certification and other related training certification as required by the facility.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of three (3) years of broad-based experience in more than one of the following trades: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, plastering, painting, HVAC.

SPECIFIC SKILLS

• Thorough knowledge of company, local, provincial and/or federal regulations, policies/practices, code and legislation regarding occupational health, safety and environment.
• Ability to select the appropriate tools and equipment required to perform all required maintenance tasks.
• Possess skills in the following areas: curling ice, arena ice, swimming pool, and HVAC systems.
• Knowledgeable in company quality acceptance standards and practices.
• Ability to record and maintain required information on appropriate forms.
