The City of Kamloops is seeking a permanent Facility Maintenance Technician to keep municipal buildings safe, functional and well-maintained. You will handle tasks from drywall repairs to door adjustments and minor plumbing fixes, ensuring areas stay presentable for staff and the public.
Applicants must have at least two years of relevant experience, be able to obtain required certifications within two years, and meet security clearance requirements.

Before applying, please ensure you review the attached Residential Building Maintenance Worker Employer Declaration of Work Experience form. Candidates will be asked to provide examples of their work experience in each Job Task category (Section D) and must have their current or former employer sign off on their relevant work experience. Candidates must have a minimum of 3,000 hours preforming the tasks in Section D to obtain the job.
This is a unionized position with CUPE Local 900; check out our Collective Agreement (2024 - 2025) for full details (ratified 2026 Collective Agreement coming soon). As this is a unionized position, all qualifications must be met in order to be shortlisted for the position.
For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. A comprehensive benefits package is included with this position.
