The Facilities UPW/WWTP Technician provides engineering support to oversee, plan and ensure proper operations and maintenance of the Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) and Wastewater (WW). systems. Operation and Maintenance: Oversee the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of UPW and WWTP systems to ensure they run efficiently and within specified parameters. This includes ensuring optimal performance and addressing any operational issues promptly.
Quality Control: Ensure the quality control of water and wastewater systems, including maintaining regulatory compliance and conducting regular inspections to uphold standards.
Troubleshooting: Quickly resolve both routine and non-routine problems to restore services in case of system failures, using systematic approaches to identify and fix issues.
System Improvement: Identify and address issues to enhance system stability and reliability, implementing improvements to prevent future problems.
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety compliance and adhere to government regulations, ensuring all safety protocols are strictly followed.
Project Collaboration: Work collaboratively with system engineers on environmental sustainability projects, focusing on energy reduction, water conservation, and waste recycling initiatives.
Coordinate and liaise with contractors and vendors to implement corrective and preventive maintenance programs, ensuring all activities are carried out effectively.
Perform PM/CM activities for systems, including in-house PM/CM as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Risk Assessment (RA), and Permit to Work (PTP) requirements, ensuring all maintenance is conducted safely and efficiently.
Troubleshoot and respond promptly to out-of-spec conditions and interruptions of the plant and systems, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution of issues.
Support and enforce safety compliance and government regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.
Generate and update maintenance work orders, as well as check inventories on the Facility Management System (FMS), ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
Ensure ongoing operation and maintenance activities are conducted in strict adherence to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles and guidelines. Implement systematic procedures and practices to enhance equipment efficiency, minimize downtime, and foster a proactive maintenance culture within the organization.
Education: Diploma in Chemical, Environmental engineering is preferred.
Skills: Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and other analytics tools, excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Experience: Relevant experience in water or wastewater systems, or equivalent
Understand the various Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) devices required during PM/CM activities.
Perform Permit to Work (PTP) and Risk Assessment (RA) for PM/CM work, ensuring all safety measures are in place.
Understand the various electrical, fire, and chemical hazards in job areas, and follow safety procedures, particularly when entering confined spaces.
Select and don the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for the respective PM/CM activities, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
