Job description

Brandt Developments Ltd. is currently looking for an experienced Facilities Service & Dispatch Manager. Reporting to the Manager of Facilities, the Facilities Service & Dispatch Manager oversees the Facilities Dispatch, and Service teams. They also work closely with the Facility Management team to maintain consistency of service and standards across the portfolio. This role ensures all owned and leased properties are well-maintained and meets the needs of tenants.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilities Dispatch and Service Team Management
  • Oversee and support the Facilities Dispatch team which assists our Canada-wide Facility Managers to maintain over 140 locations.
  • Manage and support the Service teams’ day to day operations to service and maintain building related electrical and mechanical equipment in the Central Saskatchewan region.
  • Ensure facility-related issues are promptly addressed in a timely and cost-conscious manner.
  • Work to continuously improve the functionality of our team to deliver a high-quality of service on time and on budget.
Maintenance and Repairs
  • Collaborate with Facility Managers (FMs) to preserve quality and manage the cost of maintenance and repairs.
Vendor Management
  • Work with FMs to ensure all locations have sufficient vendor coverage to meet the full spectrum of required services efficiently and cost-effectively.
Contractual Services Oversight and Support
  • Review scopes of work for contracted services to ensure quality and consistency across the portfolio, provide support where needed.
Compliance Management
  • Ensure properties comply with local regulations and safety requirements.
Tenant Relations
  • Consult with internal teams to address tenant concerns and ensure tenant satisfaction.
Reporting
  • Regularly report to the Head of Facilities on the status of property services, maintenance activities, and operational issues.

Other duties as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
  • Any Facility Management, Construction, Maintenance or Personnel Management related education, certification or training will be considered an asset.
  • Ten or more (10+) years of Management experience in Construction, Facility, or Service Trades or combination of related education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, contractors, internal groups, and external regulators.
  • Capacity to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Capability to juggle multiple priorities and ensure nothing is missed.
  • Competence to manage unique teams and successfully collaborate with multiple internal groups.
  • Substantial ability to self-motivate to learn, understand, and implement changes to enhance performance.
  • Ability to make timely decisions while following guidelines in place and provide clear direction to staff or vendors.
  • Understanding of building and property related maintenance.
  • Excellent networking skills to achieve goals with various teams.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Skill to work in an unstructured environment with minimal supervision.
  • Computer literacy with application software experience in a Windows environment, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the ability to learn Facility Management-related software systems.
