Qualifications

• 4-8 years’ experience in the Building/Maintenance field.
• WHMIS Certificate required.
• Experience in construction, plumbing or electrical work preferred.
• Must provide a current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Query, Child Abuse Registry Check and be subject to a Prior Contact Check.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems, with strong initiative.
• Strong motivational and leadership skills and effective written/oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery.
• Organize and implement a daily maintenance and repair schedule.
• Maintain an inventory of equipment, tools, and machinery.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment, structures, and grounds.
• Perform mechanical tasks including electrical work.
• Conduct regular property inspections of units, common areas, exteriors and landscape.
• Manage daily activities including safety, security, and maintenance workflow.
• Keep records of space conditions including roof, HVAC and utilities.
• Plan and manage replacement of major capital items (HVAC, roof).
