Job summary

Crescent School invites applications for a Night Shift Facilities Caretaker. The role works 3:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. under the Evening Facilities Supervisor, ensuring spaces are cleaned to high standards and events run smoothly.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, washrooms, and offices, inventory management, and preparing spaces for school events. A strong work ethic and reliability are essential to support our student-centered community.

Responsibilities

• Maintain property cleanliness and functionality, sanitize areas, and create an inviting environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Clean classrooms, offices, washrooms, and stairwells; vacuum, sweep, mop, and dust surfaces.
• Set up and take down furniture and equipment for school events; monitor supplies and maintenance schedules.
• Organize common areas, storage spaces, and maintenance facilities; manage parking areas during peak times and events.
• Weekend duties as needed; occasional weekend availability may be required.

Facilities Caretaker

Night Shift: 3:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.

Under the supervision of the Evening Facilities Supervisor, the Caretaker works with a team of Caretakers ensuring that assigned areas are cleaned and tidied to meet the high standards that the School sets.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining property cleanliness and functionality, thorough sanitization, debris-free areas, and creating an inviting environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Cleaning classrooms, offices, washrooms and stairwells.
• Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping or scrubbing and dusting surfaces.
• Straightening furniture, cleaning boards.
• Emptying garbage receptacles and taking the contents outside to the garbage bins.
• Replacing paper supplies in washrooms.
• Cleaning windows as necessary.
• Setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for various school events.
• Managing cleaning supplies, equipment, and maintenance schedules.
• Prioritizing tasks, establishing cleaning routines, and maintaining inventory levels to streamline operations.
• Organize common areas, storage spaces, and maintenance facilities.
• Monitor and manage parking areas, including directing traffic flow during peak times or school events.
• Weekend responsibilities as needed, with occasional weekend availability required.
• Other duties and responsibilities as required.

The successful candidate will have:

• Provide cleaning services with strong attention to detail and excellent organization skills.

• The ability to provide excellent customer service by responding promptly, courteously, and empathetically to inquiries, requests, or concerns foster a positive living environment.

• The ability to lift 25 lbs.

• Previous experience in cleaning, painting, plumbing repairs, electrical work, and minor carpentry is desirable.
