Job summary

Flynn Group of Companies is hiring a Technical Services R&D Façade Systems Technician in Mississauga, ON. The role blends field experience with research and development for curtain wall and façade innovations, working with engineers and designers to prototype, test, and refine solutions.

Ideal candidates bring experience in curtain wall or building envelope construction, strong reading of drawings, and a hands-on approach to fabrication and problem solving. Some travel within Canada and the U.S.

Qualifications

• Experience with curtain wall, glazing, façade systems, aluminum systems, or building envelope construction.
• Ability to read drawings, shop drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using fabrication tools and equipment.
• Hands-on problem-solving skills and curiosity for innovation, testing, and product development.

Responsibilities

• Build prototypes and mock-ups of curtain wall and façade systems.
• Participate in R&D projects for new products and construction methods.
• Conduct hands-on testing and evaluate performance results.
• Assist engineers and designers with constructability reviews and design improvements.
• Troubleshoot field challenges and develop practical solutions.
• Investigate new materials, components, and fabrication methods.
• Support project teams across Canada and the U.S.
