AtkinsRéalis in Mississauga is seeking a hands-on Fabricator Co-op Student for Winter 2027. You will work alongside experienced fabricators to support metal preparation, layout, assembly and welding on structural and custom projects.

Day shift, Monday to Friday. You will read blueprints, assist with layout, tack-welds, and finish work ready for paint or coating while following safety protocols in a busy shop.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited program focusing on Fabrication (e.g., Welding and Fabrication Technician, Structural Steel Fabricator, or related trade programs).
• Basic understanding of welding processes (MIG/GMAW, TIG/GTAW, or Stick/SMAW) and layout procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs and stand, bend, or kneel for extended periods.
• Strong safety mindset and commitment to wearing PPE.

Responsibilities

• Operate raw material processing equipment such as band saws and grinders.
• Assist in tack welding and assembly per blueprints.
• Read fabrication drawings for layout and fitting.

This role is designed for students looking to develop practical skills in metal preparation, layout, assembly, and welding.
