Job summary

Tuccaro Group in Fort McMurray seeks an experienced Lab Sampler to collect oil, tailings, water, and process samples from extraction units, while ensuring sample integrity.

You will label, preserve, and transport samples to the lab; perform field inspections; maintain logs and chain-of-custody; follow HSE policies; communicate with lab and field operations; and report hazards. The role requires CSTS/OSSA or CSO certificates, a Class 5 license, ability to work shifts, and independence.

Qualifications

• Class 4 Power engineering or process engineering diploma is an asset.
• Experience in oil and gas field sampling or laboratory operations is an asset.
• CSTS & OSSA or BSO or CSO certificates.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills.
• Ability to work shift work.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Collect oil, tailings, water, and process samples from extraction units according to established procedures from various collection sample points within Extraction unit.
• Label, preserve, and transport samples to the laboratory while maintaining sample integrity.
• Perform routine field inspections and verify sampling equipment is clean and operational.
• Complete sampling logs, chain-of-custody forms, and other required documentation accurately.
• Follow all company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Communicate with laboratory personnel and field operations to ensure timely sample collection.
• Maintain housekeeping standards at sampling locations and report equipment issues or unsafe conditions.
• FLRA’s to be completed and signed by each team member every day; report hazardous conditions and near misses to supervisor.
• Additional duties as required.

Job description

NTS is currently looking for experienced Lab Samplers.

This position requires employees to:

• Have SAFETY as a first priority and, through his/her actions, demonstrate the importance of the following, but not limited to, all SafeWork Practices and Safe Work Procedures
• Always wear proper PPE for the task
• Drive regularly throughout theplant site, including congested operating areas, while following all sitetraffic rules and safety requirements
• Collect oil,tailings, water, and process samples from extraction units according toestablished procedures from variouscollection sample points within Extraction unit
• Label, preserve,and transport samples to the laboratory while maintaining sample integrity
• Perform routine fieldinspections and verify sampling equipment is clean and operational.
• Complete sampling logs,chain-of-custody forms, and other required documentation accurately.
• Follow all companyhealth, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Communicate withlaboratory personnel and field operations to ensure timely samplecollection
