Job summary

The Ottawa Catholic School Board is seeking Extended Day Program Facilitators to supervise before- and after-school activities at multiple schools in Ottawa. Responsibilities include engaging children aged 4 to 12, supporting physical, cognitive, emotional and social development, and maintaining a warm, safe environment.

Qualified applicants will have completed a Child and Youth Worker, Developmental Service Worker, or Recreation & Leisure program, with experience with Kindergarten or school-age

Qualifications

• Experience working with Kindergarten and/or school-age children.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
• Graduated from one of the listed child-care related programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervision to children aged 4–12 in before/after school programs.

Job Description

• Under the general direction of Early Learning Services and the program Supervisor, the EDP Facilitator will:
• provide active and engaged supervision to children between the ages of 4 12 yrs in our before and after school programs;
• provide opportunities for children that help to support physical, cognitive, emotional and social development;
• follow the program philosophy of a relaxed, warm and safe environment in order to help to nurture and support children and their families.

Required Qualifications

• Consideration will be given to those who have successfully graduated from the Child and Youth Worker, Developmental Service Worker, or Recreation & Leisure programs;
• Candidates must have experience working with Kindergarten and/or School Age children;
• valid First Aid and CPR.

Annual (or Hourly) Salary:

The hourly wage for this position is $23.54 per hour.
