Responsibilities
  • Work closely with shipping/inventory team to provide appropriate escalation of issues then quickly resolve issues in the most efficient manner.
  • Communicate and coordinate with maritime shipping lines, freight forwarder, truckers, shipping yards, make the appropriate booking according to the terms of sales contracts.
  • Handle bookings according to contractual shipping requirements (Incoterm, packaging, weight restrictions, container size etc.).
  • Coordinate all aspects of shipment process, including booking, e-manifesting, Bills of Lading and freight invoices.
  • Prepare and approve export related shipping documents, confirm accuracy and perform data input.
  • Obtain the loading pictures on all shipments, provide to customers upon request.
  • Create B13/AES export Declaration for Canadian/US exports.
  • Save digital copy of relevant correspondence and documents.
  • Handle a high volume of correspondence with divisions, overseas offices, customers and transport service providers.
  • Perform other related duties as may be required.
Qualifications
  • You have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in freight forwarding or handling FCL/LCL Ocean export.
  • You have knowledge of export regulations, CAED/AES, full understanding of Incoterms.
  • You have the ability to work with Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel.
  • You have organizational skills (prioritize, plan, assign and control).
  • You have troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate current situation, respond quickly to changing requirements, and execute accordingly.
  • You have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced working environment.
  • You are able to work independently while also collaborating effectively as a team player.
  • You have good verbal and writing skills: French and English.
  • You have post-secondary education, preferably in business, transportation, logistics management, which is considered an asset.
