Experienced Healthcare Assistant - Community Investigation Hub

Symphony Healthcare Services (Symphony) has a vacancy for an experienced Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to work at the Community Investigation Hub at Martock Surgery in Martock, Somerset.

You will have significant experience of working in primary care and be competent in all healthcare assistant duties.

Ideal applicants will have a genuine passion for patient care, the ability to communication effectively, combined with sound organisational skills to ensure they manage their own time and workload well, while delivering timely patient care.

We have a permanent, full time vacant post of 37.5 hours per week, working Monday - Friday. This can be one post or 2 part time posts. Please specify in your application.

The rate of pay for this role is £13.20 per hour.

Main duties of the job
  • New patient health checks BMI,
  • Urinalysis
  • ECG recording
  • INR monitoring using Coagucheck and INR Star
  • To undertake Doppler testing
  • Blood Pressure Monitoring following practicehypertension guidelines, issue HBPM in accordance with practice policy
  • Phlebotomy including perform annual bloodtests, BP, BMI, ACR as requested for patients with chronic diseases
  • Urinalysis MSU, ACR in accordance withpractice policy
  • Wound Care suture removal in accordance withpractice policy, following training
  • Weight Management
  • Processing and management of laboratory samplesrequested by GPs/Nurses
  • Administer influenza vaccines according to PSD,following training
  • Administer B12 injections according to PSD
  • To undertake Spirometry for GP to interpretresults.
  • Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking andstock rotation
  • Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
  • Assisting in the assessment and surveillance ofpatients health and well-being
  • Help to raise awareness of health and well-beingand how it can be promoted
  • Assisting with the collection and collation ofdata on needs related to health and well-being
  • Assist with recall systems
  • Lifestyle advice, (diet, weight, exercise,smoking cessation, alcohol) making necessary referrals within PHCT and localsupport services
  • Maintain health promotion information in waitingroom designated for patient education

Experience
  • Significant experience of previous HCA / equivalent Technician role.

  • Experience of ECG recording including setting the patient up with 24-hour ECG monitoring.
