Job summary

Dexterra Group is seeking a skilled Baker to join our team in Canada. You will prepare, bake, and present a variety of fresh breads, pastries, and desserts while upholding top quality and safety standards.

You will work with a cooperative team to maintain product quality, manage inventory, and ensure timely production. Experience in a bakery or food service setting is preferred, and Food Safe certification is a plus. Strong English communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

  • Previous baking experience in a bakery, food service, hotel, restaurant, or institutional setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
  • Ability to follow recipes and production schedules accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Food Safe Certification is considered an asset.
  • Superior communication skills in both verbal and written English.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake goods from scratch.
  • Follow recipes and production schedules for breads and pastries.
  • Measure and mix ingredients accurately for consistency.
  • Operate commercial baking equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor proofing, baking times, and temperatures.
  • Decorate and finish baked goods as required.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary work environment.
  • Adhere to food safety and workplace safety regulations.
  • Monitor inventory and assist with orders of baking ingredients.
  • Minimize waste and support cost-control initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team to meet production and service goals.
  • Restock pastry shelves with fresh goods.
  • Create and follow menus to ensure quality of baked goods.
  • Ensure quality standards per client requirements, including dietary constraints.
  • Clean, wash, and sanitize equipment and work areas.

What’s the Job?

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Baker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting a variety of fresh breads, pastries, desserts, and baked goods while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Your Work Will Include
  • Preparing and baking goods from scratch
  • Prepare and bake breads, buns, pastries, cookies, cakes, and other baked products according to recipes and production schedules.
  • Measure and mix ingredients accurately to ensure product consistency.
  • Operate commercial baking equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor proofing, baking times, and temperatures to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Decorate and finish baked goods as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering baking ingredients and supplies.
  • Minimize waste and contribute to cost-control initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production and customer service goals
  • Restocking pastry shelves and maintaining a sufficient and fresh supply of baked goods
  • Creating and following menus to ensure quality of baked goods and desserts
  • Ensuring consistent quality standard in over-all food preparation as per clients’ requirements including consideration to special dietary constraints
  • Complying with food hygiene regulations in accordance with Food Safety Act
  • Cleaning, washing, and sanitizing equipment and over-all work areas
Qualifications
