A community college in Ontario is seeking a part-time administrative support professional for its Exercise & Health Science Program. The role involves providing program support, organizing events, and maintaining a social media presence. Ideal candidates will hold an Associate's degree in exercise science and have experience in administrative duties and customer service. This position is key to promoting student success and program visibility within the community.
This is a part-time, 15 hours per week position.
Provides Exercise & Health Science Program with administrative and program support focused on program promotion and student success. This position shall report to the Department Chair for Nursing and Allied Health.
Education: Associate’s degree from a recognized college or technical institutes with a major study in exercise science. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in administrative support, marketing, and/or a customer service related field, with responsibility for providing program information to others. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
Experience in an academic institution preferred. Maintain a National Health and Fitness certification accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), ACE certification preferred.
Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment. Knowledge of English, spelling and arithmetic. Knowledge of the procedures and practices involved in interviewing. Knowledge of office record keeping and reporting. Knowledge of the regulations pertaining to departmental programs. Knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration. Ability to gather, assemble, correlate and development of sound operational procedures. Ability to exercise sound judgment in gathering facts, data or resources in organizing required information. Ability to make decisions based upon fact-finding interviews within the parameters of the rules and policies of the agency. Ability to meet with clients and explain program sponsored by the department or agency in which the position is located. Ability to present ideas clearly and effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others employees and the general public. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college’s appointing authority.
