The LUS is accountable to the Stewardship Commissioner, and also supports Ministerial, Deputy Minister, senior management, staff and external stakeholder tables.

Integrated Resource Management System Secretariat: The IRMS Secretariat is established to support integrated resource management, a system to achieve responsible resource stewardship by identifying and achieving the environmental, economic and social outcomes expected from resource development. Key participants of the system include the departments of Agriculture and Irrigation, Affordability and Utilities, Energy, Environment and Protected Areas, Forestry, Parks and Tourism, and Indigenous Relations as well as the Alberta Energy Regulator, with other departments involved as required.

This position exists to support a dual Secretariat in providing secretariat support as the interface among the organizations, provides integration and dissemination of information across all LUS and IRMS partners, and provides system oversight by identifying policy gaps, implementation of issues management, common priorities and monitoring, evaluating and reporting on LUS and IRMS system performance. This work enables the partnering organizations to deliver the balance of social, environmental, and economic outcomes.
